Share Your Goals — Replay Links That Actually Work, Plus Referral Rewards
The postgame share button has been there for a while, but I'll be honest about its two problems: it only knew how to post to X, and the replay your friend landed on could play back like a fever dream — celebrations firing mid-field, the ball teleporting around, the score not matching what you remembered. Both of those are fixed today, and sharing finally earns you something.
First, the replay viewer. The bug was subtle: shared replays re-simulate your shots with physics, but the viewer was rebuilding the board with an outdated pin layout — ten pins per side and no goalie, while the live game has eleven including the keeper, arranged by whichever formation you actually played. Every shot deflected differently than it did live, and the viewer only advanced to the next move when the ball settled, so goals celebrated wherever the divergent ball happened to stop. The new playback is event-driven: a goal collision, a settled ball, or an out-of-bounds all end the shot, and the recorded moves play strictly in order no matter what the physics re-simulation does. Share links now also carry the formations both sides played, so the board your friend sees is the board you played on.
Second, the share sheet. On your phone, the share button now opens the system share sheet — WhatsApp, iMessage, Instagram DMs, wherever your people actually are. Desktop keeps the copy-link-plus-X flow. And next to it there's a new button after any game with a goal in it: Share last goal. It packages just the scoring strike into a tiny link — no account needed, the whole goal is encoded in the URL itself — and whoever opens it watches your goal and gets a one-tap Play button right under it.
Third, the part I'm most excited about: referral rewards. If you're signed in, every link you share quietly carries your personal referral token. When someone clicks your link and signs up, you get +10 Flick Cup points for your country and they start with +5 for theirs — same reward as the email invites, but now it works through any link you share anywhere, and it pays out for every friend who joins, not just the first. With the Flick Cup running until July 20, a share that lands is worth ten AI wins. Bring your country some reinforcements.
And sharing itself now pays: there's a Share replay button right on the postgame screen, and every game you share earns +1 Flick Cup point on the spot — same value as beating the AI, once per game. The 'Invite a friend' card got the same treatment: instead of bouncing you through menus, it opens your share sheet directly with your referral link ready to send.
While I was in there I also fixed a server-side bug that had been silently eating invite rewards — if you invited a friend by email recently and neither of you got your points, that's repaired now and will work on the next redemption. Apologies to the affected duo; you know who you are.
