Watch Your Best Goals Again: Game Replays

Free Flick Football now records every game you play and lets you watch them back. Whether you scored an incredible bank shot or want to study how the Insane AI found that impossible angle, replays have you covered.

The replay system works by recording every flick — the angle, power, and ball position — as the game happens. When you watch a replay, the game reconstructs the match by replaying each flick through the same physics engine. Because Matter.js is deterministic, the replay produces an identical result every time.

You can access your replays from the user menu. Each replay shows the match details: mode (AI, online, local, challenge), difficulty, formations used, final score, and when the game was played. Tap any replay to watch it from the beginning, with playback speed controls to fast-forward through the boring parts.

Replays are stored locally in your browser (up to 20 recent games, with oldest automatically cleaned up) and on the server for logged-in players. This means you can access your replays on any device once you sign in.

Online and local multiplayer replays are saved too — not just AI games. Watched a friend pull off an absurd goal? It's in the replay history. Want to see how you lost that close online match? Rewatch it and figure out what went wrong.

The replay viewer also shows mode badges so you can quickly tell which games were online matches, which were daily challenges, and which were regular AI games. It's a nice way to browse your game history and track your improvement over time.

This was a frequently requested feature, and I'm glad it's finally in. There's something deeply satisfying about rewatching a goal you scored — especially one where the ball takes three bounces before sneaking into the net.
